Being from a family with a multi-generational history of career service members, I'm OUTRAGED by Kerry's remark.
He was nearly the CIC and this is what he thinks of our fighting men and women in a time or war!
Or you marry an UGLY RICH WIDOW.
I have the right to remain silent and should I say what I would like to say about this Traitorous POS Coward, it would be used against me in a court of law.
I just hope that he, and those like him....ROT in Hell.....and the sooner the better.
"Paper cut Kerry" can kiss this Nam combat vets a$$.
He is sure a great example of the Dem party and the libs that foul the air on this rock we live on.
How can one doubt JF Kerry's courage?
After all, look what he goes to bed with!
Save
What a jackass!
This deserves very wide play.....
Of course, he left out the part where he was supposed to say "forget education, the most important factor by far is if you can marry a super-rich heiress (wife #1) or MEGA-rich widow (wife #2) to smooth the way for you.....failing that, at least make sure you have a nice juicy trust fund like my pal Ted "Swimmer" Kennedy!!"
Kerry is toast, he will never recover from this but the idiots in Mass will keep voting for him.
Two points:
I am Kerry's age and am serving voluntarily right now with the Marines at Al Asad in Al Anbar. I am better educated than John Kerry. I believe that we will change the course of history if we succeed here. We will only fail if the American people lose the will to support what we are doing.
Second, when I read Kerry's remarks I think he is subconciously telling us that he cleverly suceeded in getting out of Viet Nam by manipulating people and situations getting three easy purple hearts and going home after 4 months. I see Marines Sailors and Soldiers everyday who are recovering from wounds more serious that any Kerry suffered and who will not go home and leave their comrades. Cut and run Kerry wants to cut and run again. John Kerry simply does not have the character to be Commander in Chief.
It just shows he has absolutely no understanding of the military. A soldier has to be well-educated in order to work the equipment. That's one reason why the Pentagon doesn't want the draft - by the time a draftee will learn to work the equipment, the tour of duty will be up.
In the preface of his book, War Stories, this is how Oliver North described our military:
"... And while there is no typical soldier or Marine, it is possible to describe the average young American who carries a weapon into battle.
"He a volunteer, 19.6 years old .... He isn't old enough to buy a beer, and if he were back home in the USA we'd call him a boy.
"... he was probably a team sports athlete in high school and graduated somewhere in the middle of the pack, making him better educated than any prior generation in our military.
"... He has a short haircut and tight muscles, and wears a 4-pound Kevlar helmet and an 18-pound flak jacket to work. He can march all day in 100 degree heat with a 60-pound pack on his back. This young man in uniform knows how to use every weapon in his unit and he can fieldstrip and reassembly his own weapon in less than a minute - in the dark. In Iraq he's gone weeks without bathing, but cleans his weapon every day.
"Under fire he obeys orders instantly. He's been taught chemistry, physics, and ballistics, and can navigate with a map and compass but prefers the GPS he bought at the base exchange.
"Before joining the military he couldn't be bludgeoned into picking up his room, doing his laundry, or washing the dishes, but now he's remarkably self-sufficient. He prepares his own meals, washes and mends his own clothes, digs his own foxhole and latrine, and keeps his feet dry and his canteens full.
"The kid who once wouldn't share a candy bar with his little brother will now offer his last drop of water to a wounded comrade, give his only ration to a hungry Iraqi child, and split his ammo with a mate in a firefight.
"He's been trained to use his body like a weapon and his weapon as if it were a part of his body - and uses either to take a life or save one, but that is his job. He will offer his own food and water to enemy prisoners of war, and go out of his way to make certain that captured enemy wounded get medical help.
"The youngster who used to stay in the sack until noon now exists on just 3 or 4 hours of sleep a day.
"By now he's already had more responsibility and seen more suffering and death than most of his civilian contemporaries will see in their entire lifetimes.
"He's learned a whole new vernacular of foreign-sounding words. It's not Iraqi Arabic, but military shorthand. He uses words like CONUS, h-hour, zulu time, incoming, snafu, and fubar that mean nothing to most civilians.
"He's been told that grown men don't cry, but he has wept unashamedly in public over a fallen friend ... And though he can now take profanity to the level of an art form, it's also likely that he has a Bible in his rucksack and isn't afraid to be seen reading it.
"He's proud to be serving his country, reveres his commander in chief, and knows that he is respected in return.
...
"These are the young Americans who beat the Butcher of Baghdad. Their skill and daring, discipline and endurance are without parallel in the world today.
OMG......he SAID that?
The democrats are 'for the military'---until it comes to counting their votes.
I just heard this on ther adio & I am fuming.
What an arrogant POS
The Cowaedly, and the betrayers, allways
dress up their fear of the valiant with
contempt & disdain. Feigning bravado, in
attempts to cover their fear of being
exposed for what they are.
Kerry is so ill informed about today's volunteer military he doesn't even know that at least a high school diploma is now REQUIRED to get in.
I hope the military everywhere hears this ignorant insult.
By the way, ha anyone heard - or keeping track of - the militarys ability to vote this time? Florida and Rendell in PA are notorious for suppressing the military vote with one shenanigan or another
maybe some patriot coming back from Iraq has an opinion!
Geez, I have graduate degrees, and I was stuck overseas in Gulf War I. The Stanford M.D. who is the top clinical ortho spine researcher in the U.S. was stuck twice in Iraq & Afghanistan for 22 months total. Maybe more community college credits were needed to avoid this awful fate.
God, this is unbelievable.
What a dumb bastard. He isn't fit to shine their boots. IMO
This is an all-time major league gaffe. I can't imagine how he's going to try to spin this.
