There are prominent evolutionists (biologists or other scientists who accept evolution) who are Christian. You do not have to choose between evolution and belief, contrary to militant atheists such as Dawkins or Dennett, and also contrary to creationists or ID theory people. Here are three interesting books by leading scientists, who are each Christian and also accept evolution:
- God's Universe, by Owen Gingerich, a Harvard astronomer and a mainline Protestant.
- The Language of God, by Francis Collins. Collins is the director of the Human Genome Project, and he shares the discovery of the exact genetic cause of cystic fibrosis. Collins is an Evangelical Christian.
- Finding Darwin's God, by Kenneth Miller. Miller is a leading biologist (Brown University, if memory serves) and leading textbook author. He is Roman Catholic.
