Food Safety Authority is a quite accurate translation of the Norwegian title, Mattilsynet. They have a website in Norwegian and English, www.mattilsynet.no

They are in charge of controlling import and export of animals, including exotic pets.

What is a October Surprise?

Okay, thank you, sir; if you say that's an accurate translation, it has to be an accurate translation.

An "October Surprise" is a trick devised by Karl Rove, super-intelligent special assistant to George Bush, that strikes the Democrats when they do not expect it, and it influences elections.

Or so the Democrats allege; whether it is really true or not, only God and Karl Rove know.

DUmmieland was "visited" by the Secret Service yesterday (Thursday), but no, that's not big enough to be an "October Surprise."

An obscene book was found in Virginia yesterday (Thursday), that might influence an election in that state, but no, that's not big enough to be an "October Surprise."

The Republican candidate for governor of California leads his Democratic challenger 48-30% in the polls, but no, that's not big enough to be an "October Surprise."

So it's apparent the "October Surprise" hasn't come yet, and time is running out.

In all honesty, Democrats really really really believe this stuff, while we Republicans don't take it seriously; it's a joke.

But Democrats in America have no sense of humor.
