But this comment is most revealing...
Should gay kids go through adolescence without knowledge or support? Should they have to quietly co-exist amongst peers who are so ignorant that they harm these people, sometimes without even intending to do so? Should they have no trusted adult that they can turn to for information and support? IS it fair to simply leave these kids to fend for themselves in a difficult time of life? One of the criticisms of gay people is that they don't form lasting relationships. IS that such a surprise when they often don't even start learning about relationships until after college? Their heterosexual peers have been practicing since the sixth grade dance. That so many do make healthy and lasting relationships is surprising and a testament to human adaptation to difficulty. link
