As a civilian contractor are you making enough to make it worth the adventure?

Absolutely. It's not all about the money. I wanted to be a small part of this. Plus, I have a 50-yardline seat for watching history in the making. I don't have to be here. I choose to be here.

May I ask what it is you do?

Issue and manage subcontracts for Iraqi contracting companies to build camps, police stations, etc.

Do you have family and what do they think of you being there?

A few of my family members lurk on here frequently. Maybe they could finally sign up and come on here and answer that. LOL (They are supportive for the most part.)

How did you get the job?

I was contacted in late 2003 and asked if I wanted to do this. My response to that is now evident. ;-)

How do the Iraquis treat you?

I've made a lot of wonderful Iraqi friends. I find them warm, generous, cheerful people with senses of humor that translate well with our own.

Are things getting better?

Absolutely. There are still a lot of problems, but I've seen progress advancing steadily in the nearly three years I have been here.

How are the Iraqui police and military forces coming along?

Very well. Especially the military. They want to take over the responsbility for their nation's security.

I certainly appreciate your input.
As you know we in the states get simply b.s. from the m.s.m. as they have an agenda, that being anything to make our president look bad regardless of how it is in actuality.
WE rarely get any positive news from there.
Whenever we see anything about the Iraqui people they are portrayed as savage haters.
Always better to get info from an unbiased individual.
Good luck and GOD bless, keep your head down andcome home safe.
