YAPPY "View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is up in arms over an episode of "Law & Order: SVU" where a character named Elizabeth Hassenback is raped and murdered.
She says she believes the char acter was meant to be her.
On yesterday's edition of "The View," she described a phone call she placed to the crime show's executive pro ducer, Neal Baer, and claimed he hung up on her after she complained to him.
"I said, 'Look, I think it's socially irresponsible to do this. . . I know what you did, that's essentially my name."
Baer told her to "chalk it up to coincidence." But Has selbeck says she pressed him, pointing out that "Law & Order" prides itself on its "rip ped from the headlines" stories. "Your show is so not based on coincidence and it pulls things from the headlines."
Baer then apologized and said he was sorry the show had hurt her feelings. Hasselbeck says she snapped back, "You don't sound sorry, it's not about feelings. . . and I want you to know I think it's socially irresponsible...' "

Baer declined to comment yesterday, but a spokesperson for "Law & Order: SVU" said the series' producers always look forward to having the show's actors appear on "The View."
A production source said that all character names on every edition of "Law & Order" are thoroughly vetted by the pro duction's legal department prior to appearing on the shows and there had been no intention to name one after Hassel beck.
On the "SVU" episode, a serial rapist/killer repeatedly attacks the same women when they are ovulating in an attempt to impregnate them.

She is a conservative. I suspect that is the reason they used her name in the first place. She is right to feel threatened, it is as if they have set her up as a target and are waiting for some nut job to go after her so they get some more cheap publicity for their horrible program. Her husband has some ass-kicking to do, I think.
Will the next victim on SVU be Opraw Winfee as a coincidence?
Oh yeah, Private Pyle. I didn't know he was on this show. I never watch crime dramas.
That bonehead had an actual nervous breakdown on the set after John Kerry lost the election. He was mumbling and incoherent and had to be hauled off to the crazy house for a few days. That's not a even a joke!
Dude, I think somethings wrong with your keyboard.
I don't watch it much, either, but I caught her a couple of times. Rosie, being the loud linebacker she is, is pretty tough to back down, but Elisabeth tries. And her words are heard.
You're right about D'Onofrio.
He did have a meltdown and as a result the CI show went to a new format wherein he and Kathryn Erbe would investigate the murder in one week's episode and Chris Noth and Annabella Sciorra would investigate the next week's murder, alternately.
This was apparently to give him enough "space" to get his head straight for his shooting schedule.
Apparently BDU is a disorder which requires workplace accomodation.
I mean BDS.
Tim and the boys from the NYG could take care of Mr. Producer right quick, just like they did to the Cowboys on Monday night...
