America's most fiery conservative talk show host backing liberal Jerry Brown for California's attorney general?

Yes, it's true.

Michael Savage, the nation's third most listened-to radio host (and 4th most influential host according to NewsMax's Top 25 List), confirmed that he recently donated $5,600 -- the maxium allowable -- to Brown's campaign.

Brown won the Democratic Party nod and is facing Republican State Sen. Chuck Poochigian of Fresno, Calif.

"What can I say?," Savage told the San Francisco Chronicle. "I think he'd make a great attorney general compared to the other guy. By the way, who is the other guy?"

Republican Poochigian is currently a State Senator and former assemblyman who has served 12 years in Sacramento.

"You have to make choices in an imperfect world," Savage said. "And this, this Machugian guy (sic). I never heard of him. I don't even know who he is."

"Why bet on a horse that isn't going to win? Why throw your money into the garbage?"

Savage said he respects Brown's decision to start the Oakland military academy and his experience as a politician, regardless of his very liberal past.

Brown, who had the nickname "Governor Moonbeam," served as California's governor for two terms beginning in 1974. A former Democratic presidential candidate, he ran for mayor of Oakland, Calif. in 1998 and won.

"People change. He changed. He has experience," Savage told the Chronicle. . . . "He's moved to the center, which is what this socialist state needs."

As for the conservative Poochigian's campaign, they are not so angry with the Savage defection, bragging that their candidate has the backing of Bo Derek.

WOW -- our take on entertainment is 180 apart then, I get embarassed for him 90% of the time I catch the show... the man is at best bi-polar. The other 10% of the time he actually gives out useful information in the form of history..... this, however, did it for me. The man is no conservative and will not get ratings in the future from my radio.

Savage is manic. He's loopy. He needs meds. And like all crazy folks, at times he's incredibly smart. But in the end he's just crazy.

I turn on his show and in the first 30 seconds I can tell if it will be him in a down phase or an up phase. I then decide in that same 30 second window to either turn it off or turn it up.

Not only loony, but he has a frothing at the mouth hatred for every other conservative talk radio host, especially the ones who were recently invited to the White House when he was not. He haaaaaaaaates being left out.

He showed that before the 2004 election by urging votes for Kerry.

This reminds me of that other clown, Hugh Hewitt, who stabbed Tom McClintock in the back in 2003. Hewitt endorsed McClintock for governor in the recall of the Dimwit Davis until RINOld came on the scene and then Hewitt switched his support to RINOld.

A co-worker used to listen to Savage for his entertaining value... He told me lately that he had to switch off Savage since Savage's only interest now is to attack conservatives!!! I guess, Savage finally shows his tail.

Well, he got married, finally. To a female, even. Which is at least a step in the right direction.

Savage said he is a nationalist, not a conservative. Never a Republican. It's hard to get him to commit and stick to it. He's got his BLC mantra going consistently. Still, why mess with a successful radio show formula?
