The race in Missouri between Jim Talent and Claire McCaskill took a disturbing turn last night. In the St. Louis market during the World Series, Michael J. Fox shot an ad on behalf of Claire McCaskill on the sole issue of stem cells.
The ad, which will probably now embolden the cut and run conservatives to run in droves to the polls, was both exploitative and manipulative.
The ad was perhaps too clever for McCaskill. It is an issue seen by many voters as being personal and non-political. Yet, McCaskill and the left have repeatedly pulled the issue into gutter politics and exploited the hopes and fears of many. This is just the latest example of the exploitation of life at the hands of the Democrats.
While there may be some momentary benefit for McCaskill, my sense is that voters who might have wanted to stay home and protest the GOP will become enraged enough to go vote and other voters will feel dirty enough from viewing the ad to vote against McCaskill. Sometimes emotional ads are just too raw for voters. This is one of those times.

It isn't just the add balance that has me disappointed. I see the Talent adds as nothing but carping about the "nursing home issue". I see hardly any adds for Talent that are psoitive on his record or any adds talking about significant issues to voters. Most voters are not going to make a swing decision based upon this nursing home issue which as nothing of federal bearing and is just a character issue.
Talent should release a transposed ad showing McCaskill throwing an aborted baby in a dumpster.
Actor and Canadian = moonbat
good point. these hollywood elites are such a hypocritical bunch. if these clowns are so passionate about their causes they should be eating out of garbage cans and living in shacks, giving up all their worth, before asking DC to pull more from some factory workers paycheck.
He may have been born in Canada but he lives in the US (and may now be citizen, not sure). As wrong headed as he is in supporting McCaskill, he has every right to push his agenda which is medical research. You of course have the right to accept or reject his appeal.
Unless you have a family member with Parkinsons.
I never saw MJF in front of cameras begging the American people to cure MS before he got sick and I'm betting he didn't dish out much of his millions to the cause either
if he has more than a million in his bank account then he's a hypocrite

On That Michael J. Fox Ad

regardless of how otyu feel about the issue, the commercial was blatant pandering and over the line. Fox may have even been acting, playing up his disease on camera for effect.
But it's not cool for Freepers to make fun of someone for their disease.
The agenda MJF is pushing is not valid medical "research."
It's a leftist agenda whose sole purpose is to usurp taxpayers dollars in an unproven & unethical field.
Horrible doesn't come close to describing this offensive ad.
Michael J Fox has done damage to those with Parkinson's by making all patients seem like quivering, quaking, thrashing rag dolls.
He looks like he's doing a parody of someone with Parkinson's.
Fox is obviously off his medications to control the tremors or acting for the cameras.
Unless it was filmed during an earthquake.
What's next for McCaskill?
Farrah Fawcett showing us her anal cancer ??
That was well said.
Your screen name is an apt description. MJF is working to find cures for Parkinson's wherever that takes him. I don't have any problem with conducting research on embryonic stem cells. As far as being unproven so is most medical research. As far as ethics, I would trade any number of fertilized eggs that are going to be thrown out as medical waste anyway to find a cure for people like my mother who suffered from it for 20-25 years before dying a miserable death.
As far as the Missouri Stem Cell ammendment, it does NOT fund any research and does not use any taxpayer dollars. By the way, in case you didnt notice, much of the medical research in this country is paid for the Federal taxpayer and its certainly more valuable than the Bridge to No Where and other pork projects that the little piggies vote themselves.
The showed McCaskill at the end of the video saying she "approved this ad". That's the first I saw her. She is one mean looking b*tch/witch, take your pick!

Also Canada has "cheap" pharmeceutical drugs by govt. mandate, yet has anybody heard of a Canadian pharmaceutical company that's researches or produces a miracle pharmaceutical drug.
Ain't no such creature as a researching Canadian drug company, the Canadians leech off the American pharmaceutical companies.
Rush on this now
