This whole approach by cut and run "conservatives" is insanity.

It's saying to Repubs "I'm not voting for you, but my not voting will by default enable DemocRATS to win the election

WHO HAVE OBSTRUCTED OUR AGENDA OF COURT APPOINTMENTS,

WHO WILL RAISE OUR TAXES,

WHO HAVE SOLD OUT OUR NATIONAL SECURITY WITH LEAKS,

WHO HAVE PUSHED FOR THEIR AL QUEDA BILL OF RIGHTS,

WHO HAVE SOUGHT TO CRIMINALIZE CONSERVATISM WITH TRUMPED UP CHARGES...

ETC. ETC. ETC.

Absolutely. I was one of the very angry conservatives when the Senate, in its infinate wisdom, chose to vote in favor of amnesty for illegals. I spoke strongly against the move, and I questioned why we would bother supporting a party that chose to invite 15 million future liberal voters to stay in the country. Add in the excessive spending on the part of our Republicans and the result was me being a very disgruntled voter.

But then I took some time to think about the issues - all the issues.

Consider the next appointment or two to the supreme court.

Consider two years of needless impeachment hearings.

Consider re-enactment of the "fairness" doctrine, whose only result would be silencing of the few remaining conservative voices (and we know by the persecution of Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter that the dems want them silenced).

Consider the re-enactment of the assault weapons bill, along with some additional gun control bills used to further restrict the second amendment (and consider the purpose of the second amendment).

Consider how the tax cuts will expire, and would likely be replaced by tax cuts for those that already pay little or no federal income tax.

Consider drastic expansion of the socialism that democrats support.

Consider federalized health care.

Consider "means-testing" for social security recipients so that any remaining connection between "paid in" and "collected" is permanently severed.

Consider cutting and running from Iraq, thus presenting to the world another defeat for America, and a defeat for freedom in the middle east. That would certainly embolden our enemies.

I'm sure I've missed plenty of the leftist's pet ideas, but I will say that all things considered, there is no reason to let the democrats win in any election this year. No reason at all.

There may be a need for spanking of many Republicans, but there's no reason whatsoever to spank the entire country. I'll be voting "R" on November 7th, and if you consider all the issues at stake, you should do the same.

Meyer, I'm STILL mad about some of the stuff they have done, as I am sure you are.

But one thing I am not is stupid.
