Repeat line 1.
"but if some conservatives stay home I really can't blame them."
I can. I don't support the party 100% on all issues, but I've given money to the RNC this election cycle and will vote.
If people don't understand how critical it is to defeat the global jihad, and if they want to go back to the stagflation days of the 1970s, yes, they will bear the brunt of the blame.
Consider this. If the conservative base is no longer reliable, we will have to make an effort to bring new people into the party with the minimal amount of compromise necessary. That's political reality, and that means a moderate candidate to defeat Hilary.
The spankers need to think clearly about what they're doing. Supporting people like Ralph Nader and Ross Perot never gets issue advocates anywhere-- you need bodies in offices from your own party if you want to protest and get an Alito.
We will have no such leverage with Ms. Clinton.
If some conservatives stay home, yes, I can really blame them. And I will.
Don't be rude.
