Putin's path to energy security has put him into bed with some very unsavory characters.

Russia exports mainly oil and gas, also metals and some arms.

That's sad ( for a Russian) but true. We have a big job to do to change it and we want to - there's big enough population and mineral exports don't provide good jobs for all of them.

So Russia now has common interests with those exporting the same, probably excluding arms.

Russia also is a supporter of Iran going nuclear, WHY????

Russia also is selling arms to the wild eyed oil dictator of Venezuela.

There is this appearance that Russia will take out even her own brother if a dollar can be made.
