Who swept it under the rug?

This was not my question, however, anyone and everyone who knew about the actions of this predator is just as guilty as the offender himself. I don't care about party politics or political advantage. Everyone involved desrves to be canned immediately.

From what we can tell so far, it was the DEMOCRATS who swept it under the rug, until they wanted to pick the rug up right before the election.

Spare me the drama...........and the finger pointing, you know as well as I do that this predatory behavior is criminal and MUST be treated as such.

If you can not tell how this could be relevant or at the very least disturbing beyond words, then there isn't enough time in the day to spell it out for you.

if you see this only as political dirty tricks, there is no hope for you.

Now, I'm certain that you really do understand the criminal nature of foley's acts, and that everyone who knew and did nothing to protect the children is equally at fault. So I would suggest forgetting about the dirty tricks and focus on my original question:

What does all this crap have to do with the problems related to an old queen hitting on teen-aged boys and the resulting fire-storm surrounding the "sweeping-it-under-the-rug" approach to punishing the perpetrator?

If you don't see a problem with Gay Porn Kings(with questionable backgrounds involving possible pedophelia) providing internet service for Congressional Staffers and Congressional wives on Capitol Hill, then there is no hope for you.

If you don't see a problem with the dems holding on to emails and IM's that were potentially 'criminal', as you say, then there is no hope for you.

If you don't see anything wrong with the possibility that democrat and/or gay activists are 'wiretapping' people on Capitol Hill...there is no hope for you.

If you don't see anything wrong with snooping in people's emails in order to gather political dirt and/or to blackmail them with, then there is no hope for you.

No one is defending Foley here, but thanks to the dems in DC,16 is the legal 'age of consent'.....so there is not much chance of Foley being found guilty of anything criminal.

So, your premise is actually incorrect, his behavoir was not 'criminal'. Despicable yes, but not criminal.
So spare me the drama.

This all started with somebody "outing" Foley, and pointed towards Foley trolling the ranks of the House Page program for fresh young boys; and we all recognize that as demented and criminal behavior (regardless of what the "age of consent" is).

Shifting our focus away from Foley's act/s and looking at the bigger picture... it appears that there may well be a whole cottage industry of page trolling by what seems to be a repeating cast of characters.

The same guys who run a gay porn server (some in "the industry" would say it's the largest/most successful gay porn site on the web) also run a "legitimate" server which has as its customers congressional staffers and congressional spouses.

These characters who run/own both the gay porn as well as the "legitimate" server have what amount of access to personal information, personal communications, personal "preferences" of those hill staffers, spouses and politicians?

All questions that need to be asked and investigated. It may well be that Foley is just a small part in a very large operation.

What does all this crap have to do with the problems related to an old queen hitting on teen-aged boys and the resulting fire-storm surrounding the "sweeping-it-under-the-rug" approach to punishing the perpetrator?

See above.

What is the cover-up, exactly. We don't know what Hastert and Shimkus knew and when they knew it, so how can people be outraged about a GOP "cover-up"?

It's particularly galling when the party making the big stink about what may have occurred were up to their necks in cover-ups for far more serious transgressions..
