Great research so far. Not sure if this is relevant or not, but I have some info on Bill Sarpalius. I worked on Capitol Hill during the early stages of his Congressional tenure.
If you are working towards an angle that this is "all-gays" involved, I think you are wrong about Bill Sarpalius. I know for a FACT that he's not gay...though I suppose it's possible that he's Bi. He is however, a lowlife scumbag. The reason I KNOW he's not gay is because he essentially sexually harassed the girl I was dating in DC at that time. She also worked on the Hill and I vividly remember her telling me about him literally chasing her around the office one night. She was fearful of pursuing this and basically wanted it to just go away, so she never told anyone but her close friends and she left the political game forever. So I've held a grudge against this guy for over 15 years...I hope you nail him and his "pillow biting" buddies. Good luck.

I also seem to remember at that time that there was talk of a "boys club" of politicians' who used interns for their sexual playthings.
Now why would a lobbyist/Republican ex-congressman make a political donation to a man who the law and others were eyeballing as being somehow involved with a then missing (now known to be deceased) intern???
I too might question Bill Sarpalius. FWIW, He grew up at Boys Ranch in Amarillo, Tx.
