#2, Former head US Nuc Inspection Agency (A seemingly straight shooter) said Japan has 10 tons of Pu from nuc power reactors in storage. In his words, "If Japan did everything right, they could have bomb in 3 months; everything wrong, 6 months." Know it is constitutionally prohibited, but when has any law written to appease some group 60 years ago every stopped anyone?
My contacts at the DOE tell me that Japan could actually construct a nuclear device in a matter of hours. They have all the materials and have likely manufactured all of the components. It is probably just a matter of putting the pieces together.

It's been reported that Japan has around 23 TONS of weapons grade plutonium (per Fox News), that works out to about 8K warheads.
So while they may not technically have warheads; I figure that given Japan's nuclear industry & technical prowess, they could have a working Nuke warhead in a week or two. And they do have their own space inustry as well, so putting one on top a missle shouldn't be a problem for them either.
If Il Jung really wants an asian arms race, then Japan could probably leapfrog him in a heartbeat, and might even surpass China. Which I'm sure China doesn't want to see.
lil Kimmie just opened up a whole can of worms nobody wanted to see opened. If China were smart, they'd send agents into NK and off the whole entire ruling class.

Dick Morris on O'Riley tonight.
Says Japan will build nuc right away, using same excuse DeGaule did. He asked, Would US sacrifice NY for Paris.
Same question, Would we sacrifice Los Angeles for Tokyo (well, on second thought......)
Seriously, he also said Bush has 12 effective days until election of Senate and House both go Dem. Morris said, could be something, something big.
Gawd, I miss HK. Was in HCMC four months ago. CNN on TVs. Everything for sale everywhere. "What Communists????"

visit the Cho Ben Tanh and the Cholon district? I bet it has changed since the old days.
No worry about being hit by a VC sniper, as all those guys must work in government offices for the SRV these days and ride in Nissans!

Got "good" (i.e. politically connected) guide. Went to old haunts, Cu Chi (PAVN tourist trap now) Tay Ninh (found old hooch!)
An Loc and Loc Ninh are very "tired" Reminded me of Southern US towns that died when bypasssed by the Interstate.
Cau Dai temple is still beautiful.
Went up past FSB St. Barbara (we used to launch out of there a lot) to FSB Illingsworth. Friends died there in a huge USARV FUBAR. All grown over now.
Tried to get up into Cambod, but KKK still too active. Found a few places "near" the border where we used to operate. Even found a tree where we had hidden a PRC-25 antenna real high and buried the cable. We would connect to it of we needed to comm, but could usually comm through "Edmund" (radio repeater on top of Nui Ba Den (We named it after Edmund Hillary.

Ah. Good old Noi Ba Den (Old Virgin Mountain). I don't know I'd want to climb it. I am sure there is a lot of unexploded ordnance.

My mom Siobhan said to ping you to this. (She is asking family and friends to say an extra Rosary in honor of Our Lady of Fatima today for the consecration of Russia and for world peace.)

Some Koreans are still very angry at the Japanese. Some Irish are still very angry at the British.
Does that justify the existence of the IRA??

I wouldn't. Why would you?
To: ladyjane
I was just comparing the two situations, I'm hardly a supporter of such a terrorist group...
