Authorities may not be sure what happened,
and may be clueless as to who has survived,
and may have no idea as to what actually hit the building
but they have just announced that "this is not terrorism".

What the news outlets should be saying is "we have absolutely no reason to believe that that this is NOT an act of Islamic terrorism."

That, of course, is as silly as positively declaring that it is terrorism.

What I heard them saying was there is no indication at this time that it's terrorism related, not the it definitely wasn't terror related. I think they mean by this that there was no indication from ATC that an aircraft has been hijacked or suddenly gone off course without explanation. That's a very highly restricted piece of airspace there and an unidentified aircraft would receive a LOT of attention, as would one that appeared to be off course or not following ATC orders.

I see water being put on the floor below the fire so the FD is up there working on it.
