Applying Occums razor to this reveals to me that it is far more likely done on purpose than accident. Nope.
Ask me sometimes about how many ways that human beings have found to fly airplanes into things that you think they would miss.
Given enough time, every pilot will eventually find something to crash into. Most have to land or run out of gas before their turn comes. Odds are, the pilot had an in-flight heart attack, and the rest is history.

Ask me sometimes about how many ways that human beings have found to fly airplanes into things that you think they would miss. You are correct, it is quite often actually... every 'accident' involving an accident will hit something, be it a building, hanger, tree, river, ground, etc.. If it were an accident over NYC, the odds of hit hitting a building versus not are pretty clear..

Perhaps a stroke rather than a heart attack.

Do you believe John Denver's plane "ran out of gas"?

Odds are, the pilot had an in-flight heart attack, and the rest is history. That's what I think too.
