To: The Westerner

I leave my kitchen window open. When the wind is blowing from west to east, air is pulled out; but when it's blowing east to west -- as it is today -- air comes in. And since I'm just west of the crash site ...

Well, good news is your dad was grieving today, otherwise he might have been subjected to this traumatic event. Bad news, you are going home to a smelly apt and have to spend a ton of money cleaning it up. Hope your dads' apt wasn't one of the ones hit. I feel terrible for those innocent souls minding their own business and suddenly this...but as someone else said, thank goodness this is a rare aviation accident in NYC. When I lived under the take-off path for LaGuardia, I thought about this a lot...because it could have been my windows on the 24th floor that got hit. People need to remember that this is truly rare for the number of planes and helicopters flying everyday.
