Why not remove age restrictions for driving? I'm sure plenty of 8 year olds could pass the licensing test, and then we shouldn't restrict them from cruising along highways at 65mph, because we shouldn't let our safety interfere with little kids who want to drive. And while we're at it, maybe should also drop all regulation of nuclear power plants too -- what business is it of ours if they're being operated by a bunch of incompetents and drunks who show up for work when they feel like it?

Accidents happen. I'll bet a lot more people died in car accidents New York in the last month than they did in airplane accidents. Spare us all the kneejerk reactions, the politicians in Washington, D.C. already have the market cornered on that and can't stand the competition. :)
