I'm a GA pilot pilot too, but I agree with you to a degree, there's a ton of additional training available out there for GA pilots, but the average pilot doesn't take adavantage of it...dumb. Also a lot of pilots flying a whole lot more plane than they should just because they have deep pockets.
I've personally taken a whole lot of additional training - physiological training, emergency water egress, aerobatic, and mountain and backcountry training. I've even had to dead stick a landing due to mechanical failure...but I could still get bit on the butt by the alligator of fate.
Knowing that is probably what keeps you safe. And I agree that many GA's are flying more than they can handle. I congradulate you on your extra training, and you know as well as I do that you are the exception, not the rule.
