Angle of attack (alpha) can be ONE of the many causes for stall. High alpha conditions can be overcome by thrust. Therefore, it is incorrect to say that too much alpha causes stalling.

We're on the same page. The only reason I posted is there seemed to be confusion on the thread concerning what a stall is. No question airspeed across the wing influences stall angle thus there's a stall speed even for lightly loaded level wings. Too high an angle of attack can be overcome by airspeed to the point of ballistic flight, no need for wings. I don't claim to be an expert on this issue, but have messed around with some aeronautical designing. Sounds like you love things that fly too.
