Dang - Hey Mel - come over to my house and I'll break out the Jack Daniels and some cigars.

What a horrendous thing to say. Even jokingly you never offer a drink of alcohol to an alcoholic who is trying to quit.

Why not take and gun and shot him and get it over with.
