LOS ANGELES Mel Gibson calls his anti-Semitic rant following his arrest for drunk driving in July "the stupid ramblings of a drunkard."
In an interview with Diane Sawyer set to air on "Good Morning America" on Thursday and Friday, Gibson says while staying sober is a struggle, he has not had a drink in 65 days.
He adds that he plans to continue making movies and working to heal himself and those he offended.
In a partial transcript of the interview released by A-B-C, Gibson says "All you can do is take another step, keep breathing."
The interview with Sawyer is the first time Gibson has spoken to the media since sparking a scandal by unleashing what he later called "vitriolic and harmful words" during his arrest.
See post 39.
Well......10,000 might be enough : )
Friend, this makes two of us. See my post on this thread. I'll FReepmail you when I feel up to it.
There is actuall only one line in there. That one line compare the war in Iraq to Mayan human sacrifice. That surpases some of Hollywoods most outrageous claims.
Absolutely, completely, utterly (adverbially :-) AGREE!!
Who cares?
Yeah. But we know better now. Even my ex-drinkin' buddies are supportive, and are turning introspective. I keep my yap shut... it's one man's decision.
"Yeah. But we know better now. Even my ex-drinkin' buddies are supportive"
Well, I don't know about my ex drinking buddies, but they are indeed supportive. Aussies and UK dudes love their beer : )
"Even my ex-drinkin' buddies are supportive, and are turning introspective"
I hope their introspection proves cathartic!
Bump!
This isn't a thread debating his sainthood. Let me reiterate the guy's got issues.
I think people took me too seriously when I said he should start drinking again. I honestly do hope he straightens his life out, but I am displeased with his recent actions. I don't hate or even dislike the man. I am just annoyed with him, and I have put money in his pockets over the years by seeing his films which gives me the right to state my displeasure.
You sir, are the master of understatement.
I've been to Oz once and the UK many times on business. I never went thirsty.
ROTFLOL! Neither did I! Man, can they drink!
No, you wouldn't.
LOL, posting and drinking don't mix. Cell phones and drinking REALLY don't mix, this I know from experience.
Mel has hurt himself a whole lot more than his drunken words have hurt anyone else. Mel will live with his own demons and conscience. I wish him well (sobriety).
On the very few occasions I have, I am quiet and say very little, if anything at all... Alcohol generally ruins me to mirthful company if I have more than two drinks.
There is a reason why it is called "bottled spirits" and it affects different people in different ways, but it always leads to ruin if done to excess...
British soldiers never run from a fight or a pint...
What exactly is everything we stand for over here (apart from conservatism)? Really, I want to know.
Regarding your question, I'm more or less ambivalent on the Israel issue. I support Israel in that it's fighting for its existence from muzzie whackos. However, I'm not an ardent fan compared to others I've seen on this site.
Anyways, what does zionism have to do with what Gibson said? IIRC his comments were directed at jews in general.
Get off your high horse already.
You have CLASS!
