NOPE. no ROTC uniform. (wearing the uniform at a demonstration/sit-in/march in THOSE faraway days would have gotten you "tossed out on your ear".)

we could MARCH, and were "released from classes without penalty", by the university president, to be IN the marches.

if i remember correctly, i wore a "coat & tie" to the march, as we were INSTRUCTED by the SCLC/NAACP/SSL "leadership" to "look clean,shaved, new haircuts, well-dressed & NEAT". NODOBY looked "shabby, scuzzy or UNkept"! (even the garbagemen were in CLEAN, pressed uniforms or "coat & tie"!

fwiw, those were GRAND DAYS!

By whom?

I can't imagine the Memphis garbage men cared whether their supporters were in uniform or not. Their concerns were more basic.
