The difference, as I'm sure you know, is that in the north, school segregation was never an actual law, as it was in the south. That said, there are plenty of racists everywhere and no region has a monopoly on virtue.
in point of FACT, the NORTH has NEVER desegregated their schools.
the city of BOSTON has more segregated schools NOW than AL,GA,LA & MS COMBINED, as i write these lines!
