I don't fear nukes in the hands of democracies like Japan, S. Korea or Taiwan. I hope Japan has a military build up takes on the role of regional superpower. I would like to see those three and others form a Pacific version of NATO. We need that regional counterweight to China.

Do you really fully appreciate what you stated? That makes the most sense of about ANY Pacific Rim plan I have ever heard.

I just don't know if Japan has the guts to fully re-militarize.
