Thanks Johnnie! Of course my screen got a bit blurry and hard to read for awhile. I've saved this and am going to refer to it often as well as send it to friends and relatives.
BTW - My sister and I took my 4 yo nephew to the Salmon Days Parade yesterday. A lot of Army soldiers started the parade off - - on foot, a band, various vehicles, etc. I was a little late and got there when those in front were just turning the corner. I crossed the street when there was a slight break but there was a young soldier close by and I said Thank you for your service and smiled. He got a HUGE grin on his face and smiled and said, "You're welcome". We yelled thank you to all those we could as they passed by and gave them a thumbs up, applauded, etc. It was great! Most of those nearby us were applauding the soldiers as well - - that made me so happy (and, of course, I kept getting choked up and my eyes puddled up). Thank goodness I live in a burb (Dino Rossi's old district) where the families are a bit more conservative leaning than in the Peoples Republic of Seattle. The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts got huge applause, too.
YOU are truly a great American SC.
