Are you really sure you want to use men that lived over 200 years ago to judge the validity of a modern scientific theory?
If the vast majority of the founders were here, and you told them that man can fly in a metal tube from New York to London in a few hours, they would laugh in your face.
If the vast majority of the founders were here, and you told them that man sent telescopes into outer space and could now see evidence of something that happened 14 billion years ago, they would laugh in your face.
If the vast majority of the founders were here, and you told them that man a things called "viruses" and "bacteria" were the cause of illnesses, they would laugh in your face.
If the vast majority of the founders were here, and you told them that by splitting apart an inconceivably tiny unit of matter, you could produce enough energy to destroy a city, they would laugh in your face.

And if the vast majority of the founders were here, and they saw EternalVigilance's selfish alteration of their own words, I imagine they'd do something completely different in his face.
