Jeb Bush gets rude welcome
Pittsburgh Post-Gazette ^ | October 7, 2006 | Ervin Dyer

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, in town for a fund-raiser for Sen. Rick Santorum, had a close encounter with a large group of anti-Republican protesters as he was making his way to the Duquesne Club, Downtown.

It was about 4:15 yesterday when Mr. Bush met up with the protesters near the corner of Liberty and Sixth avenues. The protesters were marching to join other pickets already gathered in front of the exclusive club, a little more than a block away at 325 Sixth Ave.

Protesters said Gov. Bush blew them a kiss, acknowledging the crowd of about 30 chanting pickets that was made up of United Steelworkers and members of Uprise Counter Recruitment, a tour traveling through 22 cities to support anti-war efforts.

The protesters came closer.

"Jeb, go home," they shouted.

75 protestors altogether? Not a very large number.

It's probably overestimated. The corner of 6th ave and Wood St. is crowded with rowdy teenagers that time of day, coming home from high school.

Although I wasn't there, I am familiar with that area, and it was more likely a dozen protestors with several dozen bored inner city teens looking on at the interesting goings on.

Same thing happened in Philly when they beat up a guy who was anti Gore/Clinton.

The article states: "As a precaution, the governor was ushered into a T-station supply closet and stayed there until the crowd left."

My prediction for tomorrow's LA Times headline:

First Foley, Now Jeb Bush Comes Out of the Closet."

Most of what comes from the main stream media is stupid. What did Sonny Corleone say, "What'd ya go ta college ta get stupid?" It would seem that for most "journalists" that's precisely why they went.

"When they lose ground in the election, look for riots."

At least if they do, some Conservative Police will get some well deserved therapy in the form of opening a can of whup-ass on some leftist pukes!

Which was afterwards ruled to be an invalid action by some world trade organization, which Bush knew would happen. But before the ruling was issued, it helped the industry. So he was willing to take actions to help the industry that he knew would be overruled at a later time.

You just can't please some kids...

I remember that. I walked into the local RNC office and told the three old ladies to keep an eye out and the phone nearby.

We need to tag them as "anarchists" not "political activists' or "demonstrators".

The country is used to the cops beating the h*ll out of "anarchists".

Remarkable too that some of these union thugs are so willing to harass and even assault women, children, the elderly, and small groups of people they don't like. And they do this to support the party of pacifism!

For the union groups, its purely greed that motivates them. They have never shied away from violence to get their way.

The only reason they support the Dems is because they have them bought off.

$85,000 dollar a year union steal workers...

I'll bet the president of the union makes five times that.

Just got mad, just fired off a flammer to Erv.

Sheesh

Hey Ervy

Nice hack job for the union thugs.

Jeb "scurried"? Nice choice of words for the Governor of Florida. Wonder what word you would have used if he was one of your demoKaRat buddies?

Now I guess you will go all apoplectic and turn blue yelling at me about how you are 'fair and balanced' and not a running dog of the lawless union thugs who tried to assault and intimidate the governor of another state.

Hey Ervy, why not this for a headline: " Steelworker union hooligans attack Governor of Florida." That would be MORE ACCURATE. But hey, accurate isn't what you and your lockstep Stalinist buddies are all about. Is It?

"Get Bush", that's ALL you are about. After that, you're just a bunch of airheaded hate mongers without a rational thought amongst you.

I can guarantee that if this was a demoKaRat official and a conservative welcoming party, you would have been howling like a stuck little Animal Farm pig.

Jeb doesn't get a shot at free speech, your hoodlum friends on the left saw to that. But hey, the First Amendment is for commies only, right? Opposing ideas have just GOT to be shut down, and shut down with mob violence. You like that don't you?

You pathetic little Joe Goebells of the msm make me sick.

Anti Republican protesters, what the hell is an anti Republican protester. If I'm reading this right there's a group of these marxist pricks who are now harassing people for no other reson then the fact they're Republicans.Who gave these people the right to show up and shout at Bush to go home, and bother the guy. I don't know if other conservatives are getting sick of hearing about stuff like this but I am. One thing I've noticed though, these protest type losers usually show up where they have a clear advantage in numbers.Maybe one of these days they'll come up against a group of REAL Americans who will kick the snot out of em !!!

Pittsburgh certainly has its share of common thugs. The Democrats have lost any sense of decent behavior they may have had in times past. What a pity! As the Democrats behave more and more like the leftist socialist revolutionaries they are, we will see more and more shameless behavior in public!

Scurried? what, like a raccoon? Nice unbiased reporting Ervin.

That's a liberal reporter's way of saying he walked at a normal pace.

"what the hell is an anti Republican protester?"

Great point! That term really betrays the author's bias. He is probably completely oblivious to how prejudice he is towards Conservative Republicans.
