I have seen many posts on FR bemoaning the 'inevitable' Islamic takeover of Western Europe. I don't see it this way. The only inevitability I see is a violent confrontation with Islam, one which the Muslims will lose. Out of the ashes will emerge a more unified Europe with the clear understanding that Islam is not compatible with Western democracies, and immigration policies will reflect that obvious fact.

Neither do I. 2-3% of the population IMO is not going to take over the country anytime soon. What I do see, are communities for whom the law doesn't apply except when it benefits them for example welfare and this I find particularly annoying.

I fear that just as much as the mozzies taking over - another hitler could just as easily emerge.
It's ironic that the continental European countries with their thousands of years long cultures and histories, including hundreds, if not thousands, of conflicts under their belts, are so reluctant to save themselves, while an upstart like the U.S. steadfastly undertakes needed acts of defense of our culture and homeland as required.
How would you suppose such a violent confrontation would take place? (BTW, I think you're right, I'm not challenging you). Let's just restrict it to one scenario, say, that might transpire in France. And let's just assume that the violence, rioting and car-burning that occurred last year there has continued to fester and sporadically break out in less dramtic ways since then (it has in fact.)
The only difference for the riot-ready Muslims in France will be HOW THEY WILL BE DEALT WITH by any new French President, not WHETHER THEY WILL CONTINUE TO DO WHAT THEY WANT TO DO. It may come down to the POLICE being given free reign to defend the country and THEMSELVES in a situation even more out of control than the recent one.
If France wants to go through that, that's their own business. It would be much easier for a new government to get laws passed that would enable it to DEPORT the real troublemakers back to their countries of origin.
