(CNSNews.com) - Protestors stormed the stage at Columbia University Wednesday night, yelling, waving banners and ending the speech from Minuteman Project founder Jim Gilchrest minutes after it began.
As Gilchrest started to deliver his remarks at a speech sponsored by the CU College Republicans, members of the audience began yelling and cheering. He watched quietly as students rushed the stage with fists raised and displayed banners proclaiming, "No One Is Illegal."
According to a statement released by Columbia University College Republicans President Chris Kulawik, protestors took control of the stage for "fifteen chaotic minutes" before security personnel ended the event.

Maybe they should have erected a fense in front of the stage first?
An electrified fence? :)
I would be careful what you wish for...
Even though I understand and empathise with your position, it could very well go the other way...
lol
So tell your campus security people to do their job and stop coddling the revolutionary students.
I don't think the Minutemen are against "any immigration."
ONLY the Left pulls this kind of crap. And ironically they get a pass from a large percentage of the apolitical majority because , to stupid minds, from a distance, it translates as "passion". It is in fact, thuggery, no different at all from the bullying behavior of unionists
who rallied around every Clinton cause in the past 10 years, or the thugs on the waterfront from the halfcentury old movie of the same name.
That's silly---the Minutemen were and are not "extreme", let alone against any immigration whatsoever. Have you never heard of the Minutemen before, or been made aware of what their M.O. and their position is???

You either need to retract that statement or put up whatever phoney proof you think you have.
You either need to retract that statementI'm not retracting a damn thing. Unless and until they come up with or support a proposal to increase controlled legal immigration, it must be presumed that they oppose immigration itself.
The problem isn't immigrants, it's the lack of control over who gets in. It's also the belief, fostered by liberals and machine Democrats who hope to maintain them as voting blocs, that they do not need to assimilate.

U.S. immigration rates have ebbed and flowed throughout U.S. history. The idea that there is some kind of inherent right amongst the people of the world to immigrate to America is ridiculous and self-destructive. It doesn't make you more enlightened. It makes you foolish.
So, if someone doesn't support a blanket INCREASE in legal immigration, they are somehow therefore opposed to any existing legal immigration? That is not a logical conclusion.
The Minutemen want to enforce existing laws and secure our border. They do not oppose legal immigration.
"I'm not retracting a damn thing. Unless and until they come up with or support a proposal to increase controlled legal immigration, it must be presumed that they oppose immigration itself. "
The Minutemen are not politicians. Nor do they picket and cause trouble. They came together for one purpose only; to watch the border and report to the propoer authorities any illegals trying to jump the border. Your request for them to, in effect, issue ppolitical "position papers" on immigration is ludicrous!
The essence of being a liberal:
The absolute conviction that there is one set of rules for you, and another, completely different set of rules for everyone else.
~ Ann Coulter
She's brilliant.
The ground was tilled for this crop of radicals who declaimed on banners in arabic and English that there are no illegals! They know little or nothing about the deteriorating effect mass immigrations (ala the islamization of EU countries) has on the culture and laws of a nation.
And CU islamic tenured professor, Hamid Dabashi, has taught them that supporters of Israel are "warmongers" and "Gestapo apparatchiks, and the Jewish homeland is "nothing more than a military base for the rising predatory empire of the United States which "must be dismantled."
That's the kind of open forum Columbia U has been for a long time. Bravo to the brave Young Republicans for bringing the Minutemen to show the nation what a liberal education is in America's universities.
Mexico's president's own National Action Party (http://www.pan.org.mx) is now working with its governors in Northern states near the U.S. border to pressure George Bush to veto the border wall. Details (in Spanish) are here:

These same people hypocritically haven't lifted a finger to make Mexico's own immigration laws less anti-gringo and racist against us down there:

What do they seek, a conquista of U.S. territory that Mexico claims because a few of its inhabitants relatively briefly occupied the land after they stole it from Spain (which stole it from indigenous tribes)?
The New York Young Republicans are pretty brave--they had Ken Mehlman at their last meeting--but this was the Columbia University Republican Club.
