Look, none of us on this board is so naive to think that this boys parents complaining didn't raise suspicions. While I have been excoriated on this board for my position, the bottom line is the Republican leadership should have looked investigated Foley immediately after the complaint came in. It is that inaction that has me so pissed off that and it is that inaction that has put all Republicans in a bad position 4 weeks from a crucial election.

INVESTIGATE WHAT?!?! A rumor that Foley was gay? The knowledge that Foley was gay, but could do NOTHING due to legal issues? There couldn't BE any action, don't you get that? Not legally. The whole mess is sorting out, but getting all the facts wrong and demanding the impossible doesn't help anything.

The Republican leadership were limited in what they could do. The parents (of the 16 year old email kid) didn't want a big to-do, they just wanted Foley to stop with the emails to their kid.

The Republicans went to Foley and told him to knock it off.

Had they made a bigger deal out of it, especially with seemingly innocent comments, the radical gay rights 'RATS would have rioted in the streets, screaming that the Republicans were gay-bashing.

They were in a difficult spot, and did what they could considering the lack of evidence of page-sexual-abuse.

As soon as they learned of the virtual sex IMs (now explained by Jordan Edmond's friends as a gay-bashing prank gone awry), the Republican leadership took action.

I think the voters are not as stupid as the 'RATS and the MSM thinks they are.

There are more than 77 THOUSAND hits on this thread. I could only guess at the number of hits on Drudge's story. The MSM may not be reporting the whole story, but people are learning. Hastert is doing OK.

It was really bad timing (but good timing if you're a 'RAT) when this story hit the news - the politicians were out in their districts, so a quick and coordinated party response was difficult.

Don't fret about the elections just yet. Karl Rove has Osama in a Freezer in McLean, VA and will begin thawing him out soon.

;-)

You need to change your battery and get up to speed.

They did investigate and he received a warning about being 'over friendly' there was nothing else out of order.
