I don't see where this helps Foley. The kid "goaded" him into making lurid remarks? How? It doesn't imply that Foley knew he was part of any joke, it only says the kid egged him on. He still said what he said, and I don't get how this lets him off the hook. What he said was inappropriate, and anybody who is dumb enough to put stuff like this into an e-mail to a kid (or young adult, even) is not too swift, IMHO.

The answer is that it doesn't help Foley, and who the heck would want to help him? The Left (Clinton, Soros, whoever...) set this up, using the fact that Foley was a creep, simply to destroy any chance that the GOP (who didn't know about the sleaze) would win in November.

Foley is gone, facing whatever charges he deserves. The Left loves and embraces their own creeps and hates our decent men and women.
