CLAIM: FILTHY FOLEY ONLINE MESSAGES WERE PAGE PRANK GONE AWRY
**World Exclusive**
**Must Credit the DRUDGE REPORT**
According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.
Developing...
I have no problem with that - I was just trying to make my opinion clear that even if Jordan initiated it, Foley's conduct was disgraceful and he should resign. But he IS a human being.
It might have been a prank, but I still question that they "mistakenly" got into the hands of enemy political operatives. Probably more like deliberately placed into the hands of those enemy operatives.
Damn, that's heavy. Thanks for posting it. I smell...here comes payback. (i hope)
Follow the money. They'll find Edmund in a lot of trouble.
LS, right on the money. Pelosi is finished, and this will be the same as 2004 when the GOP base was irate over Dan Rather.
Story is now being splashed on NRO "Corner." Rich will learn soon enough, if not already.
YEP.
Geez, don't they have blackberries?
Very republican, conservative district in Florida.
You obviously haven't paid much attention to this story.
You may be right, this may be more of an effort to shut down the investigation (Move along, case solved, nothing to see here), before we start having BiPartisan indictments handed down for the crap that goes on in the cloakrooms on both sides of the capitol. I say, ignore this and keep digging, it's going to be like shooting fish in a barrel.
Given his myspace profile that I saw here last night, I wouldn't describe him as a conservative.
WTH?
Deathly embarassment?
Interesting in a roadkill sort of way. Bloody hell...Foley is what the GOP gets with its "big tent" stupidity. If the GOP had stuck to core conservative principles, the likes of Foley would have never had an 'R' by his name.
But what is his district?
Looks like Palm Beach, Florida.
Is it a "swing" seat? :-) Just kidding.
I'm nominating that for double-entendre of the year. ;o)
Is it a Conservitve district?
From the looks of things, I'm inclined to say 'no.'
I know CS, it has only been 40 minutes and their are nearly 700 posts...amazing!!!
As Rush was noting this morning, their rising tide is really their overflowing cess pool of lies, spins, hate and this type of BS. That overflow has hit their jet stream.
Foley made a mistake, a sick mistake, do doubt. but if he came out years ago and admitted that he was just a homosexual ? would we conservatives have kept him around
I'm sorry Jerry married his own cousin. maybe Priscilla was 16 not sure.
