According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

These young men were of the age of consent. This isn't pedophilia, it's sexual harassment. And it might even be the "kids" who were the harassers.
That list does not indicate who is gay or not. Only ONE is and he's not ready to tell yet. The blogger has been narrowing it down from 33 to 20 possibilities with several archived posts.

REad again, I said he was a creepazoid for doing so! I was only saying that even if he didn't technically do anything illegal, he still deserves what he got. So I am BASHING the guy, sick creep. I say this with some experience, as a grown man onced trolled my 13 yr old son and his friend on AOL. What he said to my son and his friend was quite mild, in fact, to the unaware eye, it might have looked innocent, but I knew what he was up to, and I let him know that if he EVER contacted my son again, I would go to the authorities. Never heard from him again.

I second letsgonova19087's statement... except he understates what I would say...
Foley needs to be hung by the neck... you can bet your bottom dollar that not only did Foley get duped by this kid, but that Foley more than duped a few other kids in more ways than one.
By their fruits you shall know them. Foley starts as a bad fruit and it only goes down hill from there.

I am amazed that so many people on this board want to protect this guy and his actions because the people involved were consenting adults.

I am amazed that so many Freepers have limited reading comprehension skills. That has been a very sad eye-opener to me.
I'm watching CNN right now, and they are talking about how the IMer was detected, etc. Something FNC seems to be ignoring. They know the way forward is to try to be fair, for some reason fox has decided to go down....I guess they must want some awards or something, and to get them, you have to be a full fledged member of the left. Shameful. They are prostituting themselves.

This might well have been a setup, but do you suppose it was just a lucky coincidence that he happened to have some history with this sort of thing? I think not. They knew he was into teenage boys, and they took advantage of it. That's sick and twisted, but so is being into teenage boys.
I'm going to start turning it off too. When their numbers plummet maybe they'll go back to what we tuned in for in the first place!!!!
