According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

If it turns out to be true, it COULD backfire bigtime on the Dems, and anyone else who trotted out their entire "vile, repulsive,etc" battery of adjectives.
But that would depend on the MSM devoting even HALF the day by day attention to this development that they did to the original "story", which I think is unlikely.
The Clinton crowd counts among its affiliations Oracle, and had its buddies wiring the Palestinian authority for internet access.
Drudge has been known to be right about a lot of things. Personally, I trust Drudge in general more than ABC.
I have no idea why Foley resigned. Probably because he knew that he would be thrown to the wolves by his own party?
His pop gave him up to be raised, and protected, by Christians during WWII, and he turned. Guy ended up running around with a top local Nazi seizing Jewish property.
I've always said that if Libs ever ran into a real Nazi they wouldn't recognize it, and Soros proves it.
The Dem leads in the polls now. It's not as conservative as, say, Maricopa County, but it's still AZ, and not a "gay playland." He had been a homosexual, but got re-elected after "outing."

I couldn't agree more! I get sick of the MSM's nonsense, but I think they may have done themselves in this time. *IF* it's shown that ABC has screwed up, we won't hear about it at all. What could happen (and it's my hope) is that the libs -- including the MSM -- will believe up until election night that they've routed out the GOP. Even when the GOP keeps control they won't believe their obvious bias is at fault.

Just remember what how Plamegate was covered after it was exposed that a democrat operative (Armitage) was the perp. Little to none. But the damage was done. There is still residual effect. We need to push this as aggressively as possible.

On MSNBC (I didn't mean to turn it on, it was an accident!) they were talking about how Dem bloggers/gay activists clearly knew about this months ago ... they showed evidence of three blogs that talked about Foley and pages back in March and even said "Watch, this will blow up in Repub's faces before mid-terms" ... and they speculated that there may be more to this story than we have been told.
Duh.
At least they are talking about it somewhere else ...
