According to two people close to former congressional page Jordan Edmund, the now famous lurid AOL Instant Message exchanges that led to the resignation of Mark Foley were part of an online prank that by mistake got into the hands of enemy political operatives, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
According to one Oklahoma source who knows the former page very well, Edmund, a conservative Republican, goaded an unwitting Foley to type embarrassing comments that were then shared with a small group of young Hill politicos. The prank went awry when the saved IM sessions got into the hands of political operatives favorable to Democrats.
The primary source, an ally of Edmund, adamantly proclaims that the former page is not a homosexual. The prank scenario was confirmed by a second associate of Edmund. Both are fearful that their political careers will be affected if they are publicly brought into the matter.
The prank scenario only applies to the Edmund IM sessions and does not necessarily apply to any other exchanges between the former congressman and others.
The news come on the heels that Edmund has hired former Timothy McVeigh attorney, Stephen Jones.

Well, what are they waiting for? Why don't they release this information.
They are sitting on evidence that involves at least a couple of federal investigations now.
Loyalty to party, refusal to be made into a campaign issue, the fact that there are bona fide instances of him being 'overly friendly' with pages, the fact he'd been 'outed' as a homosexual, and an estimation that that alone had ruined his reelection chances.
Another possiblity is he really is a closet drunk, and wasn't certain it didn't happen, since he didn't log all his IM's back three years plus.
Why is that Rogers guy on Tucker's show saying that a GOP operative is the one who released the IMs?
And I see Fordham on CNN; can somebody give me the REAL deal with him?
BTW, Rogers on Tucker's show is saying that this whole thing is being "done" by a bunch of GOP gays who are tired of the other GOP gays being hypocrits.

Maybe he didn't realize he had been set up.
Who promptly came up with the old and worn "Hey, it was just all a big fat joke! Ha Ha!" defense. And all this time later, his blog full of idiotic and potentially incriminating statements is still up on MySpace. I'd say he's not getting his money's worth from that lawyer. Unless, of course, the laywer has other loyalties.

Not much they put on is true except from sources directly from the media and stuff that member of congress send to them directly\! But they got this from ABC News who is probably freaking out right about now.

Wonder if Edmond is saying the "prank" was something all the pages were doing?
I'm really disappointed with his reaction to all this. I expected more from him. Jumping on the bandwagon before the facts are all out.
