This is just great. Here we have destoryed a man's career and almost the leadership of the GOP on a misrepresentation of the facts. Just like Bush's Air National Gaurd records this is "Fake but Accurate." Disgusting.
Foley is guilty of being gay and not owning up to it. We forget that he served the House for 12 years and did a lot of good and was a tireless spokesman for the WOT. That being said, I don't condone what he did and he needs professional help which I hope he is receiving. He did not need to be in Congress with his "issues."
Foley deserves NO sympathy.
The fact he waited until these pages were 18 to advance sexual conversations, so far as we know at this date, does not make him in the right. Fishtalk had it correct. It appears he was trolling for possible "partners" among the group to approach after turning 18. That isn't what the page system is designed for. He was rightly removed from his position.
That said ABC lied about the age and that doens't reflect to their integrity. And it does change things somewhat, because while despicable, an adult does bear some responsibility for their actions. Clinton's conduct was deplorable, but Monica was old enough to say make her own decision. As was this young man.
Nor does it reflect to the credit of the Dems/MSM that knew about Foley's activities to allow his continuance so they could plot a political surprise.
