I'm inclined to think that's what happened: Jordan shared them with a "friend" who recognized the political "value" and acted accordingly. Or he tried to blackmail Foley and things went awry.
Either way obviously ABC thought they had the obligation to protect his identity, so they did remove his sn---but only after it first briefly appeared on the internet (and was captured by watchful eyes).
Yes, he potentially will receive a bunch 'o money from ABC. I don't mind at all ABC having to fork over millions for their shoddy work.

The story is from 2004 and details the life of one of Foley's aides...uneventful story, but you'll notice near the bottom that her previous job was working in the office of Ernest Istook, who just happens to be the guy whom our e-mail friend is working for. Do you think that's a coincidence?
This is all musing, but I bet that Foley was being blackmailed by this kid. Everything about him makes him look like hes a "politician" sort of guy...always calculating. I can see it clearly:
"Hey Congressman, I was looking for a job with Istook's office"
"Well, I don't know if I can do that..."
"You know its funny, I found some crazy IM convos from a few years ago!"
"Done."
..... but this other thread has some posts suggesting Jordan Edmund may not be exactly an innocent bystander......

This guy sounds like trouble all around, Ishtook better figure out who's minding the store but it's probably already too late for that.
This whole thing may be a set-up from several angles, this guy going after Foley, and the Demagogues + MSM grossly abusing the public's trust in how they've approached it, how long they withheld it to spring it just before a national election, etc. What a STENCH.....
