How exactly do you have an IM *exchange* without consenting by typing your end of the conversation? The kid could have hung up and blocked Foley's account from sending him IMs if he didn't want to exchange IM's with Foley.

And sex with a minor, with or without consent, is still sleazy regardless of what age of consent laws may allow. And an IM is harmless compared to actually taking a minor out of the country, plying him with alcohol and then schtoping him.
