This whole Foley flap is purely designed to depress conservative turnout and it's not going to work. Conservatives voting for their local congresspeople will not associate them with sleazeball Foley. In fact, we're glad our party is purged of this sicko.

And every other dem october surprise timed to suppress turnout has failed. Bush's DUI story? Failed. And that was a 'scandal' about the actual candidate - and a presidential candidate at that.

I've already had a few liberals get irate because I said the Foley scandal doesn't have any effect on how I intend to vote in Michigan.

Imagine if the D's and press get tagged with a trumped-up scandal just weeks before the election?

"This whole Foley flap is purely designed to depress conservative turnout and it's not going to work."

Respectfully disagree, the target was pressure on the Speaker to step down causing turmoil. The average Joe and Jane voting dim muttering, "anything else has to be better than what we got now."

Lanny warns them and the kook-blogs not to take the bait, but their BDS is so all-encompassing that they can't resist.

Dhimmocrats and assorted leftist-grievance-societies turned to the Dark Side long ago. Their rage, their hate, their fury is all that they have.

They're quickly becoming the modern-day Whigs. And History will not judge them kindly...

I agree - let's face it. The Dems have Barney Frank, Clinton, the Kennedy's, etc. If we are going to go into moral issues, the Dems have Pubs outnumbered 5 to 1. Dems can throw all the mud they want but the difference is that the Pubs get rid of their trash while the Dems turn theirs into their biggest stars.

Been awhile... I'm still struggling with the ol' ticker, so I don't get here much any more. But this has me furious!!! Any Democrat idiot that thinks this Foley deal is going to keep conservatives home has no understanding of the conservative passion. Bad heart or not, I WILL be at the voting booth, dragging every friend, neighbor and family member I can reach with me, forcefully if necessary.

I will not take this obvious vicious attack from the left sitting down. There's no way I'll sit by and let that pack of self centered power mongers take over and ruin the futures of my grand children.

They wont listen to Lanny. They are ridiculing him on DailyKos. The Foley War will set the "gay" movement back decades. It will be glorious to behold, as the RATs eat their own, and Americans respond by demanding that the homosexual agenda be kept out of their Congress, their schools, and their workplace.

A man from the Phillipines, who works with my husband, told him today, he will vote for whomever is going to do something about the illegals. Said it took him 8 years to come to the U.S.(legally) and took his sister 20 years.

Said he could care less about this scandal crap! I've heard many callers to radio stations saying similar things. i believe this will spur the republicans & the conservatives to get out & vote.

1998 was the beginning of the slow slide of the GOP into 'business as usual'. What hurt us in November 1998 was basically our cave-in to Clinton on the budget in October.

Clinton if you racall in January 1998 had a good January until the bombshell dropped. He was ready to offer giveaways and start ramping up on liberalism.
