McCain calls for independent investigation

There were signs of concern among Republicans, as well. Sen. John McCain of Arizona called for a group of former senators and others to investigate how the House handled the affair.

"We need to move forward quickly and we need to reach conclusions and recommendations about who is responsible," McCain said during a campaign speech for Sen. Lincoln Chafee in Rhode Island. "I think it needs to be addressed by people who are credible."

McPain isn't helping.......

Wow, the rabid gay activist who is behind all this had an open letter on his on his blog, threatening Republican Senators with the exposure, one in particular who voted against Alito and was in what the blogger called a fake marriage. Posters said that could only be Chaffee. How sad.

McBackstabber ought to know that there is only one person responsible......Foley.

If parents didnt' want to make this public, it seems they didn't care if others were exploited. That is not a good place to be, IMHO.

Who is responsible for Foley's behavior? Well, last I checked Foley is. Not anyone else.....Foley. Maybe the republican leadership got too lax.....but we ARE fighting a war on terror.....email and IM stupidity that likely was stupid but not illegal or a damaging as actual sex with a page would not have been a high priority of mine.
