"he had "more than one conversation with senior staff at the highest level of the House of Representatives... "

So what is considered "senior staff?" The term makes me think this could have been an aide or aides, not an actual House member, but why would you talk to an aide about the behavior of a House Rep? If this guy had concerns about Foley, it should have been reported directly to Hastert, not through a third party.

MSNBC is reporting that speaker Hastert is calling for a probe on the rumor of the drunken attempt to enter the page's dorm by Foley.

It is still a rumor at this point, but they are calling for an investigation now.

This is also interesting from 2004...

"Aravosis said he obtained the latest information about the five-term congressman from Foley’s former chief of staff, Kirk Fordham. Fordham, who is gay, is now the finance director for Mel Martinez, who has come out in favor of FMA. Fordham denied ever speaking with Aravosis."

I don't believe this - if he thought children were in danger and didn't report it to law enforcement he's just as guilty as the people he alleges he told. Hastert is not a prosecutor.

Turns out the Page was 18 at the time of the IM's and they might not have been when he was a page. Drudge has the story.

Chief of Staff like a flight attendant?
No,that is pretty stupid.
It is the most powerful position in the Congressman's office. Most of these are highly educated, intelligent, and capable. It is a lynch pin position. They are NOTHING like what obviously imagine.

So are flight attendants. Face it, staffing positions in government attract men that like drama and have to deal with it everyday. Most straight men don't like drama while homosexuals are drawn to it.
