From what I have been able to glean from more reliable media sources is that the kid's parents had first approached Congressional leadership to put a stop to Foley's e-mails which apparently their son found uncomfortable. If the son found these rather innocuous e-mails "uncomfortable" and had involved his parents, wouldn't these flaming instant messages have similarly raised a red flag? If the kid had confided in his parents about the e-mails then wouldn't he have similarly confided in them about the instant messages? Investigations and interviews with the page by a liberal Florida newspaper turned up nothing.

While this page is assumed to have been the party to these instant messages, why hasn't he come forth to further damn Foley? All that is presented is some instant messages supposedly sent as far back as 2003 involving some unknown party and Foley. The convenient timing of the release of this information and lack of detail would seem to indicate that these instant messages could be all or in part fakes as part of a October surprise by the Democrats.

From what I've read thus far, what is starting to come to light is this: militant homosexual activists have been targeting Republicans with suspected or known homosexual tendencies for several years, basically blackmailing them, in an attempt at swaying the vote on, for one, the marriage amendment. I'm pretty certain that that Tyson Vivyan guy, a former Congressional page, who appeared on O'Reilly to discuss his charge that Foley IMed him back in 97, is gay; transcripts from his appearance reveal a rather stilted and peculiar recollection, designed to do as much damage as possible. There are posts from that Rogers guy that imply he has posed as a page during an IM session with Foley, and who knows who else. If there actually are others who are compromised on this or other potential legislation, I for one think this is a major problem, and want to get to the truth of the matter. They've been issuing threats about outing a Republican Senator (like we don't already know who THAT might be), so it's far from over.

You've fallen for part of the media attempted confusion.

The emails were sent around 2001 to the page whose parents complained.

The IM's were sent to another page around 2003.

Hasterat(sp) was told about the first ones and implies that he told Foley to knock it off.

No one knew about the IM's until last Friday except Foley and the other page.

I heard one of the lib interested parties say they had 58 or so new messages that have come to them. Could somebody tell me if an IM is the whole conversation or just one transmission, ie, a line of dialog?

If this is wrong could someone straighten me out?
