SC, here's another thread on who these folks are based on the same Mark Levin discussion as this thread. The organization running this automated phone bank operation is apparently a Hitlery/Soros front group.

Who is really calling for the Republican leadership to resign?

A search revealed AmericanFamilyVoices.org is registered to a Carol of Eugene, Oregon, the Trevelyan Strategy Group, and the CTSG organization. A further search revealed the President of American Family Voices to be Mike Lux who has a very interesting resume:

He is the founder of Progressive Strategies LLC...served at the William Jefferson Clinton White House as a Special Assistant to the President for Public Liaison...Since leaving the White House in April 1995, Lux has become a significant fundraiser for progressive causes and candidates. He was a 1996 Clinton-Gore Finance Committee Vice Chair, and served in the 1996 cycle as a Democratic National Business Council Vice Chair. He has raised money for numerous charitable causes and political candidates over the last three years. Prior to his service at the White House, Lux was Constituency Director on both the 1992 Clinton-Gore campaign and the Presidential transition. Lux was also a senior staffer for the Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and Paul Simon campaigns in the 1988 cycle....

Lux is currently (January 29, 2003) involved in assisting Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) "in assembling and raising money for a new outside organization designed to provide a voice to the party's progressive wing…

A search for the Trevelyan Strategy Group linked it to Emerging Democratic Majority, where is says the, "web site and E-newsletter is produced by Ruy Teixeira in collaboration with McPherson Associates and The Carol / Trevelyan Strategy Group."

In other words, a leftist liberal organization, whose President may also work for Senator Clinton, is calling Republicans to tell them to demand that the Republican leadership resign. Makes you wonder about the still unconfirmed reports that a watchdog group may have withheld Foley's instant messages and if political hack groups and certain Democrats are in cahoots. I am not saying that they did anything wrong or criminal; I am just wondering aloud.

It appears we're being played big time, folks.  We need to check out all of the information that is so conveniently being shoved at us from all sorts of directions.  I'm not ready to jump any particular way yet.  I want to know more than we're getting from the drive by media so far.  This calls for all of our resources and all of our patience.

There are a fair number of folks on FR in the last 48 hours, some no doubt trolls, but a lot of them long time freepers, who are pushing this "screw the Republicans" line with a vengence.  This is an organized campaign designed to drive down our turnout.  I think they actually planned to hold this one for later but broke it this weekend because the good effect of Clinton's tantrum were beginning to wear off and they could no longer hold off critical examination of all of the lies he told in that one interview.  Voila!  Forget that controversy, let's MoveON to the next arrow in our quiver.

Rush has been on this the last two days.  This is certainly not the last thing they've got waiting to throw at us.  We've got to stand firm and not let them snow us.

Thanks for the ping.

I reached Lux's office but he is not in. Adam told me they would take me off their list.

Thanks Phsstpok!

I've seen a fair number over the past few months (at least) that say "I'm sitting this election out" or something to that effect. As you mention, I think some are trolls, but, I think others seem to be 1-issue type voters, or if the Republicans don't give them 100% of what they want on immigration, spending, the WOT, judges, etc., etc. Just like in life, we're never going to get 100% - -if we get 70%, I'll be ok w that and keep pushing for the other important items. Others have tried to point out to them, while they have a perfect right to do that, by not voting for Pubbies, they are actually voting for Pelosi for Speaker of the House and/or Reid for Senate Majority Leader. Not to mention Rangel as Chair of Appropriations or Ways and Means, I believe it's Conyers that would be Chair of House Judiciary, and, of course, Leaky Leahy as potential chair of Senate Judiciary. Good luck getting any more judges through (I saw a list of them the other day that hadn't been voted on before the break).

KVI in Seattle just started carrying Mark at 6 pm - - I'm so happy he's on out here now! I also enjoyed him on TV. I've been planning on when I leave work to correspond to the start of his show ;-) Last night he was great and pointed out that if folks don't vote for Republicans, they are voting for higher taxes, a bad healthcare system (ala Hitlery care), decreased funding for WOT, probably pull out of Iraq, etc., etc. I turned on the radio when I got home so I could finish listening to his show and was surprised to find I wasn't the only one who received a disgusting call.

I didn't see the thread you provided - I just wanted to make sure FReepers knew about yet another nasty scheme by the Dims. They've been doing almost weekly attacks on Pubbies (Woodward, Pirro, Allen, Foley, NIE (only the Bush lied part - - they forgot to include the part that we shouldn't pull out of Iraq). We need to be prepared for a scheme du jour (or per week) until the election. Instead of saying that does it, I'm not voting - - the Pubbies, like-minded Ind and Libertarians, and Conservative Dims need to circle the wagons and fight back against these socialist scum.

I think you're right about the timing and the Clinton thing.

Next time they call - if it's a live person and not a recorded message, I'm going to borrow a line from Mark:
Get off the phone you big dope! :-)
