Imagine you are 16 years old again, and a male. A 50 something year old man asks you for sex.
You:
A - Say, "You are an authority figure, I cannot refuse"
B - Save the messages for years to hand over to the press
C - Beat the living cr@p out of the 50 year old man.
Am I the only guy in America who believes in Answer C?
Let's get something clear - by 16, most guys are not capable of being preyed on by pedophiles. Most 16 year olds are essentially sexually adults by 16. They might not be able to handle the emotions, but at 16...they aren't 'children'.
All the 16 year olds I knew were entirely capable of telling an old man who asked for sex not just NO, but HELL NO!! - and 'I'll beat the daylights out of you if you come close to me again!'
Foley is disgusting, but so are the homosexual pages that allowed it to go on.
I read one of the posted IMs. The page said he was in a gay bar (with fake ID ) when he saw Foley. What was the page doing in a gay bar....hmmm
I'm glad somebody else realizes this. All of this hysteria in the media about Foley being a "pedophile" preying on children is really starting to get ridiculous. A 16 year-old is worlds different from a 6 year-old when it comes to sexual matters, and any law written by sane people should recognize that. As has been pointed out, the age of consent in DC is 16, so it wouldn't have even been illegal for Foley to have had sex with this kid. Ironically, the only reason Foley may face criminal charges is that he himself helped craft an online predator law that makes the silly, not to mention asinine, assumption that teens are equal to toddlers in terms of sexual innocence and maturity.
If I were to describe the kind of sexual activities that 16 year-olds (and younger) were engaging in at my high school, I'm quite certain this post would get pulled. That's why it's somewhat difficult for me to buy all of this "pedophile scandal" crap from a salivating news media establishment that is quite obviously lusting to see the Republicans lose Congress.
