I don't think most people consider sex with an adult the same thing as sex with a 16-year-old. then why is the age of consent in DC 16. If your theory was correct the age of consent woiuld be higher, but it is not.

I believe the age of consent in some states is 14. That doesn't mean that most people consider sex with an adult the same thing as sex with a 14 year old. Same thing with a 16-year old. Is it logical? Obviously not or the law would match the mores, but clearly, that's the way it is. How many people do you know that would consider a 50+ man having sex with a 16-year old the same thing as him having sex with a 30-year old?
