Thanks Jeff.

I still think we need to start a campaign and get the first CVX to be named "Lexington" or "Langley" the second CVX MUST be named "Enterprise".

Agreed 100% on the Enterprise. That name should pass directly to the new ship that replaces the existing one. I am still heartsick that the WW II Enterprise was not saved as a museum.

My personal feeling is that they should go back to naming after an Admiral, and the most appropriate one as well:

Fleet Admiral (5-star) William Frederick Halsey, Jr.

With all due respect, eff the LANGLEY and LEXINGTON. The LANGLEY was a lashed-up jeep carrier and the LEXINGTON -- while a fine ship with a valiant crew in World War Two -- is named after an ARMY battle. No, there can be only one name for the CVN-21... and that name is ENTERPRISE.

Either Langley or Lexington would be good.

They have to retire the present Enterprise before the name is freed up.
