US 'must live with nuclear Tehran'
The Australian ^ | 10/2/06 | Sarah Baxter

AMERICA will have to learn to live with a nuclear Iran, top US intelligence analysts have concluded at a secret meeting. Senior operatives and analysts from the intelligence community were almost unanimous in their view that little could be done to stop Iran acquiring the components for a nuclear bomb.

They didn't do too well against Hezbollah

So says Hezbollah and their defenders in the media. In actuality, Israel killed many hundreds of them in a very short time period, and knocked out quite a bit of their weaponry.

An attack on the Iranian nuke facilities would be a completely different type of operation, and one that Israel excels at. It'll be difficult, and may only set the Iranian program back a few years rather than annihilate it completely, but those few years are crucial years.

I think we should pre-empt.
But that won't happen.
The USA as a nation just does not have the guts to go out and what they will end up doing, until we first have a huge body count of dead americans first.

Look at our history as a nation.
It has always taken dead americans, or extreme oppression, for us to muster any will to fight.

Look at Iraq. Half the country is already sick of it, even though its so very important that we win there.

It's astounding that we have 230 years of US history to looka at, can't seem to get it right, when a threat is afoot.

We have been late to the game, and ill prepared for every single war-

we often get caught with our pants down-
as Pearl Harbor, 9-11,
and to a degree we had no clue that the USSR was about to fold, when it did.

It seems we as a nation, slog forward, making grandiose proclamations, and occasionally brandishing a sword.
Then we go to sleep, or ignore the global threats.

I'm sick of it.
So here we go again.
Flowery talk, brandish a sword, and let Iran have its nukes.

then, after they use one, on us, or give one to terrorists, to use on us-

the namby pambys will come out of the woodwork, and scream at washingtons weasels:

"how could you let this happen????"

they might well scream at themselves:

"why do you people elect idiots who won't do what needs to be doene, like General Sherman or General Patton would have done??"

Yes, I'm ticked off.
This nation is so reactionary, that its gonna be the death of us, literally. When it comes to WMD, you can't roll dice.
We need to take out Irans program, REGARDLESS of what 'collateral damage" there is, and avoid yet another major attack on our nation. We tried diplomacy, and it never worlks. So lets as a nation demand that our leaders make the smart choice for a change.

Of course- that won't happen.
Politicians pander to the masses of idiots, not to the few who see the threat coming.

Churchill was ALONE when warning about Hitler.
Something we need to think about ourselves, correct?

Hopefully Israel sees it that way as well and takes care of business.

Israel will see a nuclear Iran as being even more ominous than they saw a nuclear Iraq.

I firmly believe (and fervently pray) that Israel will throw everything they have, including their nukes,at Iran if the moment of no return is reached.

“The Israelis are going to have to make a decision earlier than we do," Mr Clawson said. "That's a real problem for us."

Ahhh... Israel's the problem... and here I was thinking it was always Iran!

But we will win the war. I have no doubt about that.

No doubt about it. The idea of the West actually losing a full-scale war against Islam is laughable. But, as you correctly state, this war will not occur until the US suffers much larger civilian losses than 9/11.

At that point, the surviving gov't will finally replicate the same formula for success as the CW, WWI & WWII: total control over resources & policy with treason/sedition laws fully enforced.

yep.

and what's worse, is that there is a decent chance we could slip into military rule.

Assume we go postal on Iran, after a major hit on the USA.
The people here will demand that the prez go much further than Iran- they will demand nuking every single threat.
What can a president do? Lose control of the nation, or nuke 15-20 cities?

His only option is military rule, and nuke enough cities to where the people will accept his actions.

This is exactly what will happen.

Then there are other intangibles-
other WMD, such as bio weps
and other "players" in the nuke game who want to make a show.

Very ugly.
We can avoid it RIGHT NOW- or continue down this idiotic path of 'diplomacy'.

Living with them is not the problem. The problem is when they start blowing their bombs off left and right, or giving them to terrorists or other rogue nations to do so.

"We only have an imperfect understanding of the extent and location of the Iranian program," said one source with knowledge of last week's meeting near Washington.

US director of national intelligence John Negroponte has told President George W. Bush that there is no rush to use force as Iran's nuclear program is beset with technical errors. "He has been saying 'Slow down, it's not an immediate problem'," said Patrick Clawson, an Iran expert at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

So which is it?

--the intelligence community knows little about the extent of the program, or

--the intelligence community knows so much about it that they know it is beset with errors and not near an immediate breakthough?

Yes, given human nature, and history-
eventually some podunk nation is going to try to play the nuclear wild card, in a gamble to show up a major nation.

How we handle Iran sets a template in play.
We need to establish the template as

"don't play nuclear".
We need to demonstrate that proliferation by rogue states is an immediate no-win, non-starter.

KABOOM, you lose.
No discussion, no UN.
Kaboom, you lose, podunk nation.

The problem with wars is that those with the warrior spirit are the ones to die first leaving the peacenics behind to make policy and govern.

Over time, the civilization falls due to its own internal sickness. We are seeing this with the rise of the queers in all manner of society and government.

Rotting from within...

just like the Roman Empire.

We have corrupt morals, lax laws,
bread and circuses, and oppress the Christians.

Gee, we are a lot like Rome.
We even abuse our monetary system like Rome did.

That's exactly the way I see it, Chuck. Right down the line. At that point we will be in a much different world than we are in now, and not necessarily a better one.

All thanks to the liberals and the left who right now are paralyzing our nation and our civilization.

it's true that the liberals and the left are a major problem- the root of just about all of the evil here in this nation.

However, there is hope.
After we take a major hit or two, liberals are gonna be sucking eggs.

No one is gonna want to listen to some peacenik whackjob, when the TV shows day and night, Pittsburgh, and Chicago covered with 120 ft tall flames....

If it comes US cities nuked, I think the peacenik whackjobs are going to be denying they were ever peacenik whackjobs (if they can) and running and hiding if they can't make the denial stick.

There's going to be death squads operating in the land, if the nightmare scenario of nuked US cities comes to pass. Don't get me wrong, I am NOT looking forward to such an evil time, but I do believe it's coming.

I'm in total agreement.

Churchill was ALONE when warning about Hitler.

And then the British tossed him right after.

We have painted ourselves into a corner by being so outraged at terrorists for "killing civilians" when killing civilians is part of every war. We need to be outraged at terrorists for killing OUR civilians, and need to stress the point of killing their civilians in the course of the war.
Excellent point.
