I have a feeling that Foley was the 'straw'.

These polls were conducted before the Foley thing broke.

If morality becomes an issue in this election because of the Foley case then the democrats will lose badly as well. Why? Because it is the democrats who are for homosexual rights and for abortion. End of story.

Foley will only affect the district that he represents in Florida and that is it.

Just got off the phone with my state senators in regards to the anti-internet gambling rider that was attached to the port securities act (HR4954). It appears that they are getting far more phone calls with this idiotic feel good sham of legislation then they are about Foley.

The Republican party as we know it now, especially its leadership, is tone deaf, blind, and frankly just not to bright.

I did not vote Republican to have them slip unpopular riders to important legislation in the middle of the night to limit my freedom just to appease a minority of the party. We already have a party who does that.

Now I am having a hard time in seeing the difference.

not to mention this onling gambling thing. A whole lot of poker players who hadn't been paying attention to this election, or even politics in general, woke up yesterday to find that their recreational pastime has been criminalized by Congress. In a close election, it's just one more thing that might make a difference.

I don't think these polls even reflect the Foley news. It could get worse. I know control of the Senate is important, but I'm not going to lose much sleep if Lincoln Chaffee gets the boot. If the GOP is going to lose control anyway, we might as well clean house!
