Dear bornacatholic,

Interestingly, it appears that it violates no law for an adult to engage in actual physical sexual acts with a 16 year old in Washington, DC, however, federal law prohibits talking about these things with someone under the age of 18 over the Internet.

So, if Mr. Foley had just taken these young men to the local hotel, he'd be in the clear, legally. However, talking about stuff over the Internet with them appears to be a felony.

That's kinda bizarre.

It is very weird. And, it reveals the absolute and stunning arrogance of our represenatives. Foley obviously thought he could get away with it. I imagine he has been doing that stuff - and likely a lot more - for a long time.
